Conference programme of the E2 Forum Frankfurt also scores in architecture

4 Aug 2022

Elevators and escalators are moving into the focus of building planning, and, all the more as the trades in planning, construction and operation become more interconnected. The multitude of digital options enhances greater energy and resource efficiency, more climate neutrality and also cost reduction: These are the goals which architects and civil engineers have the relevant levers to achieve already today. The E2 Forum offers them two intense days of conference knowledge and personal encounters: the former brings further training points from the Federal German Architects’ Chambers – the latter promotes new impulses.

With its conference and innovation forum for elevator and escalator technology, the E2 Forum Frankfurt offers exciting contributions and solution approaches specifically for architects and engineers in the planning and operation of modern buildings. The chambers of architects of six German federal states recognise the conference and selected lectures as relevant professional training measures.

European star architect Nayla Mecattaf gives keynote speech on high rises of the future

Right from the start of the conference on the morning of 21 September (Wednesday), participants will experience the keynote address by renowned architect Nayla Mecattaf.

The managing director of CroMe Studio Paris and partner of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop has Lebanese roots, lives and works in France and Switzerland.

She is creator of a number of renowned projects in the Middle East and Europe, including Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, The Shard and St Giles in London, as well as Float in Düsseldorf (Germany), and is active as a guest lecturer. In her opening lecture "Highrises of the future: sustainability and wellbeing", Nayla Mecattaf will focus on the high-rise building as a sustainable option bringing wellbeing potential to its users within the frame of the densification of urban habitat.

Vertical-horizontal mobility and the demand for Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG)

Under the title "Innovation, Digitalisation and Sustainability – Opportunities for Buildings of Today and Tomorrow", around 50 experts will be available to the conference attendees in lectures and panel discussions as well as question and answer sessions. The programme of the two conference days will focus on current topics, challenges and solutions for the integration of modern elevators and escalators in new and existing buildings. This year's lecture programme will have a special focus on the requirements of Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG), which will run through the entire conference, but in particular will find space in the conference focus on "Urbanisation, Smart, City and Sustainability" (Thursday, 22 September).

The nine key topics in total will start on the first conference day (Wednesday) with "The elevator in building planning", "Integration of elevators in modern buildings", "Construction and modernising existing buildings", "Digital infrastructure - challenges and solutions" and "Cybersecurity". Continuing on the second day with "Urbanisation, Smart, City and Sustainability", "Elevators and escalators in the urbanisation process", "Data Interfaces to the Building" and "From maintenance to testing".

Conference " pre-glow" with E2 experts: online panel in early September

In more than fifty presentations and discussion formats, visitors to the E2 Forum 2022 can participate live in the latest expert knowledge. Prior to this, however, the E2 Forum will provide initial insights into the current challenges and approaches to solutions from industry and building technology applications in the online panel "Requirements from the customer's perspective on IoT and data platforms" on 8 September 2022 (Thursday, 8-9 a.m.): For this purpose, decision-makers from major operators such as Vonovia and Deutsche Bahn Station & Service will formulate their expectations from the operator's point of view and look at further technological developments with experts from the Elevator & Escalator (E2) industry. The online panel is offered by Building Technology Experts, Messe Frankfurt as part of its expertise in building technologies and in close cooperation with the leading event platform of the international real estate and construction industry, BUILTWORLD: participation in the online panels is free of charge - registration is possible at: www.builtworld.com.

E2 events for the building services industry

The vertical-horizontal mobility of people and goods in urban infrastructures requires intelligent and connected building systems technology. Messe Frankfurt brings together all relevant players who are looking for or offering market-ready solutions to these challenges and has, thus, created a network of experts that is unrivalled anywhere in the world: Building Technologies. In this sector, Messe Frankfurt organises a total of 24 trade fairs on three continents, including the two leading trade fair brands in the sector worldwide: Light + Building and ISH. Accordingly, the trade fair organiser is expanding its marketing platforms and conferences around the globe. Today, Messe Frankfurt is represented with five events for lifts and escalators in America, Asia and Europe: With the International Elevator and Escalator (IEE) Expo in the metropolis of Mumbai, Messe Frankfurt provides the platform for the growing Indian market. The E2 Forums in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Frankfurt am Main (Germany), Milan (Italy) India's capital New Delhi and Shanghai (China) round off the portfolio as innovation forums for cross-sector dialogue between the industry and operators in the real estate sector, planning and building technologies.

The E2 Forum Frankfurt will take place on 21 and 22 September 2022 (Wednesday and Thursday) at the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt (CMF).
